PPM employs a project “team”
and informal “matrix” organization,
in which the Project Engineer/Manager is
responsible for the development project
from the initial discussions with customer
representatives until the project is successfully
in production.
This Project Engineer/Manager coordinates
the tasks of PPM’s Modeling, Rapid
Prototyping, Mold Design, Mold Building,
Injection Molding, Value Added Operations,
Purchasing, and QA/QC functions in successfully
completing the project. The Project Engineer/Manager
also coordinates the sourcing of bought
in components and the activities of required
subcontractors to help assure design, quality,
and delivery performance.
Usually, after a project has progressed
into production, the individual departments
assume responsibility for specific portions
of production requirements and the Project
Engineer/Manager is available for support
and the evaluation and implementation of
any design changes or proposed process improvements.
Status reports are available and provided
as requested, either written by e-mail,
or team conference calls or both as necessary.
